This is not how to read social networks with agents

I've never done this. This does not work.

There’s a long list of signs we live in a tech oligarchy hellscape, one of which being the reliance on a certain social network around books and faces, we’ll call it Book Face.

My kid’s school, our local neighborhood, a few local Miata groups, much of the things I want to informed about are buried at the bottom of a muck swamp of ads, bots, and racism.

While AI can be terrible in many ways, nothing is every black and white. This is how I hypothetically would add posts form groups in Book Face to my daily summary email I send with a custom MCP. This is how I would do it:

BrowserOS

I would download BroswerOS here: https://www.browseros.com/

Then I’d add my API key under Assistant → Settings → Add custom provider

Then I’d go to BrowserOS as MCP → Copy the MCP url

That url will be http://127.0.0.1:9001/mcp

Provide that to my LLM.

Credentials

I wouldn’t provide credentials to login directly to the LLM. I would probably login manually in BrowserOS, as the default session is good for a good while on Book Face.

Then, I would instruct my agent to gather those summaries from that page on a regular cadence for email, telegram, slack, etc.

Conclusion

I have never done this as this would be a violation of TOS though having my Book Face account deleted would probably be a feature, not a bug. YMMV.
